2 Energy Multipliers That Deserve Your Commitment

If you want to accomplish more with less - listen up...

There are two productivity hacks that most hard workers are not committed to taking seriously because you think it will take too much time from your day and isn't worth it.

Creativity.

Meditation.

Don't bail on me. Let me explain.

Actively being creative refires neural pathways that are essential for creative problem solving, joy, fulfillment and flow states.

You want to access those states easily to get sh*t done?

Be intentional about investing time in being in those states everyday.

I write. Play music. Go on a walk in nature. Play with my kids.

By doing so - I can easily tap into creativity, curiosity and joy when solving problems in my work. Creativity is an energy multiplier - not a drain.

For example - 30 minutes of creativity gives me back several hours of problem solving ability in other areas.

When I think I don't have time for "fun"...I'm simply destroying neural pathways (out of misuse) that are incredibly important for flow / fulfillment / productivity / and creative problem solving.

Now...meditation.

Part of meditation is learning the skill of "taking every thought captive" - and the skill of focus.

Like creativity, it's a multiplier of energy and output -- not a detractor.

By learning to "be the observer" and "let go" of thoughts actively by *PRACTICING* meditation daily...

It trains your brain (and you) to be able to FOCUS and let go of distractions. This multiplies your skill of focus for all the other hours of the day. Especially as you get better and better at it. So important in this distraction packed world.

You think meditation is wasting 20 minutes.

When in reality...

It's making the 8 or 12 hours you work a day 2 to 5 times more productive because you have the capacity to narrow your field of focus and stop battling BS in your head.

Sometimes doing the work doesn't look like doing work. 😛
